What GoTecID is

GoTecID is a consent-driven document sharing platform for individuals and organisations in South Africa. It lets a person hand over documents they already have — once, securely, tracked and revocable — so the same records don’t have to be emailed and re-stored by every organisation they deal with.

The idea that never changes

GoTecID exists to eliminate unnecessary repetition and unnecessary exposure of personal information. Individuals create their information once, share it many times, and remain in control throughout its entire lifecycle. It is not a verification platform, not a KYC service, and not an identity-proofing company — it never touches the question of whether a document is genuine. That is the recipient’s job, using the systems they already use.

The problem

Applying for ten rental properties today means emailing ten copies of your ID, payslips and bank statements to ten strangers. Those copies scatter into inboxes, drives and backups forever, with no record and no way back. The safest document is the one that was never copied — so GoTecID replaces the scatter with one upload, controlled sharing, and a complete audit trail.

How it works

Create once. Every document is uploaded a single time into a private vault and reused, rather than re-sent on every new request.

Share many times. You share with any organisation — on the network or not — through a secure, trackable link. The recipient needs zero adoption.

Stay in control. You see every access in an audit trail, documents are viewed watermarked and view-only, and you can revoke access instantly.

The envelope test

One line defines what GoTecID does. GoTecID checks that the envelope is safe — never that the contents are true. Scanning an upload for malware, keeping a file intact, matching shared fields to the request, requiring a consented relationship before data flows: all envelope hygiene, all GoTecID’s job. Deciding whether a document is genuine, or whether a person is who they claim: that is the contents, that is verification, and it is always the recipient’s job.

A deliberate boundary

Health documents, never health data. A user may upload a medical certificate and share it like any other document — GoTecID holds it as an encrypted file it never parses. GoTecID does not build structured health records or combine health data with ID and tax numbers. That boundary is deliberate, and it is not crossed.

Where we are

GoTecID is in active development and not yet open for registration. Phase 1 focuses on document sharing for rental agencies. This website is informational only: no sign-ups, no pilots, and no personal information collected through any form here.
